Learn the basics of upholstery with Hayley and Louise your friendly maker duo.

In this workshop, you will learn how to design and upholster your own footstool using modern upholstery techniques.
During this session, Hayley and Louise will share with you their tips and tricks on how to upcycle on a dime and yet create magnificent pieces of furniture. These thrifty queens will provide you with mostly repurposed materials and some fabric remnants to choose from. However, if you have a specific project in mind and/or a fabric you love, please feel free to bring your own.

No previous experience is necessary, all materials will be provided.

This workshop is for 6 people.

Price: £30/person (usually retails for £100/person).

Trainers: Hayley & Louise

Hayley & Louise are local furniture makers & upcyclers who, where possible, use locally sourced repurposed materials and high-end fabric remnants. They met through their love of upholstery while attending the same course over a number of years. And they have been collaborating on all sorts of projects ever since.
Louise is a qualified cabinet maker and has been attending upholstery courses for 10 years, her passion for creating and restoration perspire through her work. Hayley has attended woodwork and decoupage classes and most recently epoxy resin woodworking courses, making epoxy river tables, coasters and serving boards. Some of her work is currently on display at the Factory Quarter Community Hub, along with the woodwork projects completed by both Hayley and Louise.
