Learn about Companion Planting and how to make the most of nature’s synergies in this fun and hands-on workshop about the Fundamentals of Permaculture.

Theory:
Learn special growing techniques to help improve yields in small areas while ensuring good soil quality, protecting against pests and diseases and aiding pollination. This workshop will explore how to create mutually benefitting plant communities that to help you get the most out of growing season – without herbicides or pesticides.

Hands on:

  • Designing a companion planting bed

  • Sowing or planting selected crops

Trainer: Katalin from LEAP Micro AD.

Katalin works for LEAP Micro AD, a company that aims at developing a circular approach to food by turning food wastes into bio fertiliser, and bio energy thanks to micro anaerobic digesters.
Katalin has been a member of the team for more than 6 years. She holds 4 MScs, including an MA in Environmental Studies with a focus on waste reduction and circular solutions. She spent her childhood summers on a small farm where she learned the traditional, careful way of growing and waste-free lifestyle. Within LEAP, she is responsible for community food growing, composting and soil-related sustainable solutions. Since 2018, she has been running several training and workshops on various subjects such as urban food growing, community gardening and composting.
